Natalie Clements is the Director of Bands at Coram Deo Academy- Collin County Campus. A graduate of the University of North Texas, Natalie had the privilege of studying under Dr. William Scharnberg, playing in the UNT Green Brigade for 3 years, and performing in various ensembles during her time there. After completing her Bachelor’s of Music Education in 2008, she student taught in the area, but decided afterwards to continue pursuing her love of playing via a Master’s of Music in Instrumental Performance (French horn) at Oklahoma City University. There, Natalie was blessed to work with Dr. Kate Pritchett and the entire brass faculty, play in the graduate brass quintet Blackwelder Brass, perform at several area churches, and broaden her playing experience through chamber music, solo performances and recitals, opera, musical, wind band and orchestral settings. She was also given many teaching opportunities while at OCU, such as private lessons and music theory camps. She owes all of her adventures on the horn to these amazing mentors listed above who shared their knowledge and expertise tirelessly with her.
After completing her Master’s, Natalie lived in and performed with various ensembles in Chicago, Illinois, including but not limited to the Chicago Composer’s Orchestra, the Lake Shore Symphony Orchestra, and Temporal Brass Quintet.
Starting in 2017, Natalie served the Assistant Director of Bands at both CDA Flower Mound and CDA Collin County. She was privileged to learn from her amazing mentor and co-teacher, Elizabeth Bowen, for 5 years. During this time, Natalie has also taught a private lesson studio of exceptional horn players based mostly out of Hebron High School in Lewisville ISD and has still enjoyed an active performance schedule with local ensembles. She started playing the horn in 6th grade at the age of 11 and has never looked back, and she loves sharing her love of playing with students. Her favorite people call her “Mom” and “Mrs. Clements.”
