Music is a gift given to us by God to bring Him glory!
CDA Choirs offer an exciting learning environment for all levels of experience in grades 5-12. These groups learn good vocal technique, fun and challenging repertoire, how to read music and understand music theory. Canticum Novum sings in our Christmas and Spring shows. Bellus Vox adds a level of competition with their participation in Solo and Ensemble. Our top group, Electus Vox, takes it to the next level with competitions and performances in the community as well as a bi-annual mission trip. Come share the joy of music together through song!
In addition to our choirs, we have a worship team, Adoratio Dux, that leads worship during on campus chapels.
In our choir program:
We strive to pursue musical excellence as well as a love of music.
We learn how to read music to enhance our abilities to perform.
We enjoy a variety of musical styles from pop to classical.
Since 2008 we have had students excel at the region and state levels of Solo & ensemble competitions.
Since 2010, Coram Deo Academy has had students selected for the all-region and all-state choirs.
In 2015, we began competing in the medium ensemble competition.
Glen T. Miller is in his 40 year of teaching, after retiring 2 years ago as a full-time high school choir director for Frisco ISD. Prior to this, he taught all grade levels of music and choir for Lufkin ISD in east Texas for 30 years. Glen came to CDA in the fall of 2019 to start the Grammar Music program for Collin County. He is thrilled to be taking over the Choir program now and is having a wonderful time with the talented and energetic Logic and Rhetoric students of the CC campus. Glen is married to Sharon, who is the choir director for Flower Mound. Three of their four children and families are here in the metroplex, and they have two sons who are also musicians in the area. Glen thoroughly loves spending time with young people and having an influence upon their lives. He enjoys distance running, playing the guitar & piano, and mountain biking in Colorado whenever he can. His grandfather name is “G” to the Millers thirteen grandchildren. He is so very thankful to the Lord for bringing the Millers into the CDA family!
Sharon Miller loves being a part of the Coram Deo Academy family. She brings 32 years of experience teaching music to students of all ages. She is married to Glen Miller, the Choir director on the Collin County Campus. They have four grown children and 13 grandchildren.
Sharon loves teaching middle and high school students and is so proud of the hard work her students put into every rehearsal. They have excelled in concerts and competitions and are a true joy to teach!
