Coram Deo Academy faculty are lifetime learners who desire to kindle the flame of learning in their students' hearts. To inspire this love of learning authentically, the academy is committed to providing our teachers with quality continuing education opportunities and experiences. These opportunities may take the form of conferences, excellent speakers at our own Classical Educator's Training, summer institutes at universities, curriculum training sessions, or book study small groups. This year's needs are outlined below. Thank you for investing in our teachers!

Professional Development Opportunities

List of 4 items.

  • CDA Teacher Certification Program

CDA has a multi-year teacher certification program that is required for all core faculty. This three-level program will develop teachers in their understanding and practice of classical Christian education, increase content knowledge, and develop master teachers and mentors. Each level requires coursework or attendance at a classical conference, peer observations, a formal observation by administration, and more.
  • Coram Deo Academy District Training

Two times per year, CDA offers all faculty and staff the opportunity to learn from internationally known speakers in various disciplines related to classical Christian instruction. These conferences include opportunities for parents, our co-laborers, to participate and grow in their knowledge and understanding of classical Christian education. We will continue to have some of the best voices in education address our parents and faculty.
  • Masters’ Degree Reimbursement Program

Teachers who love learning and continue to grow in their knowledge are crucial to the long-term success of CDA. In that light, CDA now reimburses up to 75% of tuition for faculty members pursuing a relevant Master’s degree.
  • Summer Conferences and External Training

There are several great summer conferences and training opportunities that CDA makes available to as many faculty members as possible. These opportunities to meet and learn from peers across the country and world are important for our growth as classical educators.

- Einstein , On Education, 1950

Knowledge of truth alone does not suffice; on the contrary, this knowledge must continually be renewed by ceaseless effort, if it is not to be lost. It resembles a statue of marble which stands in the desert and is continually threatened with burial by the shifting sand. The hands of service must ever be at work, in order that the marble continue to lastingly shine in the sun. To these serving hands mine shall also belong.
