CDA Symphonic Band the Unanimous Choice!
The CDA Symphonic Band had a highly successful performance on April 7th at the TPSMEA Concert and Sightreading Contest. The band played their contest program beautifully, and then sight read a piece of music on stage they had never seen before.
The judges were unanimous in awarding the band a division 1; in fact, all 3 judges each ranked the band with this honorable first division rating both for the concert pieces and the sight reading.
There were 18 entries (bands and orchestras) in the contest. The CDA Band was one of only three ensembles to receive straight 1's across the board in concert OR sight reading. Additionally, the Symphonic Band was the only band to receive straight 1's in both concert AND sight reading.
Mrs. Clements and Mrs. Bowen could not be prouder of our students for playing so well.
