Congratulations: Speech and Debate Team!

Coram Deo Academy speech and debate students from Flower Mound and Collin County campuses attended the opening tournament of the year, the Plano Senior High/Clark Swing.
Swing tournaments are two tournaments in one weekend, and students "swing" back and forth competing in one and then the other, hosted at the same time, in the same building!

It's a fun and very busy weekend and one well worth the drive east for the team.

Beginning students had a chance to observe events in debate and interpretation events and decide where they want to begin their class study. Returning students representing the sophomore class were Thomas Sorensen competing in his first rounds of Dramatic Interpretation, Madi Pitts competing in Poetry and Extemporaneous Speaking, and Isabel Nichols competing in Prose, where she reached the finals round and placed 5th. Junior Aaron Dutka competed in Congressional Debate.  Senior Sophia Paolo competed in Extemporaneous Speaking, where she went to the finals round and placed 6th. Sophia received points towards a Texas Forensic Association state meet invitation with her placing.

Congratulations on the team's opening tournament weekend!
