Lots of Medals at the Pioneer Trail Run!
Saturday, September 7th was the Cross Country team’s 3rd meet of the season. It was the first morning meet of the season and temperatures were definitely cooler than last week’s Thursday afternoon meet at CCA!
Laina Ewoldt was the first of CDA’s runners to compete. She ran in the 3A and under Varsity Girls 2 mile race and placed 1st!
Next to run were the 3A and under JV Girls 2 mile race. The girls placed 2nd in team standings and some of the girls placed in the top 10 for the first time! Rylie Prince placed 6th, Annie Shaw place 8th and Katie Rector placed 9th. All three girls are new to cross country this year. Our other two team members, Melissa Mullen and Lauren Boyer, ran a hard race and helped to propel the team to 2nd place.
The next to run were the 3A and under JV Boys 3 mile race. The boys placed 6th in team standings and two of the boys finished in the top 10. Noah Howell placed 2nd and Fernando Echeverria placed 8th. Our other three team members, Zach Machi, Max Meade and Logan Crow ran a good race.
The final group to run was the Middle School Boys. Jacob and Joshua Wallace finished in 4th place and 7th place respectively in a very competitive middle school race of 130 boys.
We are proud of the team and the work they have put in to compete and are looking forward to more great meets!
