Spreading the Gospel Through Music
The CDA Symphonic Band went to Disney World over Spring Break! It was a wonderful experience for all involved, in which students not only got to explore the Disney Parks, but also got two incredible performance opportunities.
The students' first full day was spent at Hollywood Studios. The next day was spent exploring Epcot, and then participating in a clinic where they learned how professional musicians at Disney rehearse and record tracks for movies. By the end of this invaluable clinic, the CDA band was able to perform music behind a video montage of Moana! On Sunday, students performed their full contest program, including the hymn Be Thou My Vision, to a full audience at Disney Springs. Monday was spent at Magic Kingdom before heading back home. The band had many opportunities to reflect on God's goodness through daily devotional time, as well as to spread His message through music. Mrs. Bowen and Mrs. Clements are so proud of the hard work of these band students, and were so proud of them on this trip.
