  • Track State Champions!

    Josh Nokes
Another first took place last Saturday in Waco as our Boys Varsity Track Team won the 4x400 Relay and with it, the State Championship by a single team point!  The competition was intense as the top four teams were separated by a total of 5 points!

Along with the state champion 4x400 team, the boys team also won 2nd in the 4x200 relay, picking up a valuable 18 points in the process.  Along with fantastic showings from our relay teams, we had some great individual performances as well.  Senior, Ian Gully, won the high jump competition.  Juniors, Luke and Patrick Teson, won 1st & 2nd respectively in the 400m dash.  Luke Teson also won 3rd in the 300m hurdles.  There were many more contributors to the team victory with the Lions advancing multiple athletes and events to state after their runner-up finish at the Regional meet the week before.  Every point counted in this close race!

Our Girls Varsity Track Team also had a great state meet finishing 7th out of 26 schools who qualified athletes for the meet.  The team highlight was seeing their 4x400 relay team finish 3rd in the state!

Congratulations, Lions!  Well done!  You can watch the season highlight video at this link:

Our Lion Softball team achieved a new high mark last night as CDA defeated Weatherford Christian 3-2!  Darcy Lessert led the way on the mound with 10 strikeouts of WCS hitters.  She scattered 7 hits and relied on a defense that played an excellent game.  The winning run was scored in the bottom of the 6th inning as Darcy stole home with two outs.

The Lions next play on Tuesday in the Regional Championship vs Lubbock Christian!

    State Golf Success!

    Josh Nokes
Collin County's own Carson Brower and Noah Gustovich competed at the TAPPS 3A State Golf Championships this past Monday and Tuesday.  Both young men established a couple of firsts for our campus as they finished in the Top 10 in our division and won All-State honors in the process!  Carson finished 9th scoring a 2-day total of 161 and Noah finished 10th with a total score of 163.  CDA was one of just two schools to have two golfers finish in the top 10!

With the two student-athletes being just sophomores, they are excited about the future of the program and hope to add a couple more players in the future to fill out a team along with Freshman, Matthew Langham!

    Congrats, Carson & Noah!

    All Region Band

This past weekend, 8 members of the CDA-Collin County Band program attended the Texas Private School Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) All-Region Band event in Addison at the Greenhill School. These musicians were ranked as the top players in our entire region, spanning from the Austin area all the way to the panhandle. Students at both the Logic and Rhetoric levels represented the Intermediate and Symphonic Bands as they attended rehearsals run by renown clinicians, and then gave an outstanding concert on Saturday afternoon. Many congratulations to these very accomplished band members on Making Music that Glorifies!
