Alumni Spotlight: Josh Lloyd
Josh Lloyd, a 2024 graduate of Coram Deo Academy Dallas, is currently studying at Texas Christian University while participating in ROTC. Committed to serving in the U.S. Army, he is pursuing a nursing degree with plans to work in operational nursing after graduation. With his education funded through the Army, Josh is preparing for a career that combines healthcare and service, building on the discipline, faith, and sense of purpose developed during his time at CDA.
“I wanted to pursue a career where I was part of something bigger than myself and where I could be hands-on while helping and serving people. I was considering both nursing and a career in the military; I am very fortunate that I get to do both."
The people at CDA built a firm foundation that prepared me to go out into the world and make my walk with the Lord my own— preparing me for the new people, circumstances, and challenges I would face. CDA taught me how to stay disciplined and diligent with multiple aspects of life happening at the same time. The transition from CDA to both academic and military responsibilities was easy, as I had already learned how to manage my time and resources well due to the university-model. All the mentors, teachers, and coaches who pushed me to pursue both excellence and meaningful things have made an impact on my life.
“I want to honor God in my work by being the most skilled, confident, and proficient in the fields I am pursuing. As an outpouring of that, I hope to save lives and make a lasting impact while actively serving and caring for others.”
