What we believe
Statement of Faith
Our Statement of Faith is based on the Holy Scriptures, the Nicene Creed, and additional deeply held religious beliefs. The Statement of Faith must be accepted by our Board, employees and families.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We affirm His life and works as outlined in the
Nicene Creed:
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
The Authority of God's Word
We believe in the authority of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments as God’s word.
Parents are the Primary Educators
We believe that parents are the God-ordained, primary instructors of their children (Deuteronomy 6:1-9).
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-7
God Designed Learning
We believe in a God-designed progression of human learning.
John 3:10-12, Acts 17:22-28, and 1 Corinthians 13:9-12
Christian Influence
We believe in the ministry of all Christians to influence the world around them in accordance with the honor and for the glory of Jesus Christ.
Jeremiah 29:4-9, Matthew 5:13-16, and 1 Corinthians 9:19-23
Marriage & Gender
In line with the truths described in the above creed and scriptures, with particular emphasis on male and female complementarity, we affirm the following about human sexuality, gender identity and marriage.
We define marriage as the permanent, exclusive, comprehensive, and conjugal “one flesh” union of one man and one woman, intrinsically ordered to procreation and biological family, and in furtherance of the moral, spiritual, and public good of binding father, mother, and child. (Genesis 1:27-28, Genesis 2:18-24, Matthew 19:4-9, Mark 10:5-9, Ephesians 5:31-33). We believe that sexual acts outside marriage are prohibited as sinful. Consequently, we must resist and refrain from any and all sexual acts outside this definition of marriage - including but not limited to adultery, fornication, incest, bestiality, pornography, prostitution, voyeurism, pedophilia, exhibitionism, sodomy, polygamy, polyamory, or same-sex sexual acts. (Exodus 20:14, Leviticus 18:7-23, Leviticus 20:10-21, Deuteronomy 5:18, Matthew 5:27-28, Matthew 15:17-19, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-13, Galatians 5:19-21, Ephesians 4:17-19, Colossians 3:5, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4, Hebrews 13:4)
We believe that God created mankind in His image: male (man) and female (woman), sexually different but with equal personal dignity. Consequently, we affirm their biological sex and refrain from any and all attempts to physically change, alter, or disagree with their predominant biological sex — including but not limited to elective sex reassignment, transvestite, transgender, or non-binary gender acts or conduct. (Genesis 1:26-28, Romans 1:26-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
We believe that God created and ordered human sexuality to be the permanent, exclusive, comprehensive, and conjugal “one flesh” union of man and woman, intrinsically ordered to procreation and biological family, and in furtherance of the moral, spiritual, and public good of binding father, mother, and child. Consequently, we affirm and require that our members affirm the sexual complementarity of man and woman and resist any
and all same-sex sexual attractions and refrain from any and all same-sex sexual acts or conduct, which are intrinsically disordered. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6, Mark 10:5-9, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Ephesians 5:25-33, Revelation 19:7-9, Revelation 21:2)
We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and should seek redemption
through confession, repentance, baptism, and faith in Jesus Christ. Consequently, Christians must welcome and treat with respect, compassion, and sensitivity all who experience same-sex attractions or confess sexually immoral acts but are committed to resisting sexual temptation, refraining from sexual immorality, and conforming their behavior to the Statement of Faith. (Matthew 11:28-30, Romans 3:23, I Corinthians 10:13, Ephesians 2:1-10, Hebrews 2:17-18, Hebrews 4:14-16)
Dignity of Human Life
We believe in the fundamental worth and dignity of all people, created in the image of God, Imago Dei. Our sovereign God uniquely formed human beings for his glory and gave them a status and dignity greater than all other works of creation. Scripture tells us God created our inmost beings, fearfully and wonderfully, knitting each person together in his mother’s womb. We therefore affirm that human life begins at fertilization and that, from that moment on, each person deserves respect and dignity as an image bearer. As God’s workmanship, humans’ right to life—before and after birth—is inviolable, and scripture forbids the taking of any innocent human life. This belief undergirds our opposition to abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, genocide, and other injustices that treat any human life as disposable or otherwise unworthy of protection. God ordains all the days of each person’s life, and in wisdom, we should seek to glorify Him with each day He grants us. (Genesis 1:26-29, Genesis 9:6, Exodus 20:13, 1 John 3, 12-15, Psalm 90:12, Psalm 139:13-16, Romans 11:36, 1 Corinthians 16:29, Ephesians 2:10, Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 2:5-8, Revelation 4:11)
