Rhetoric (9th–12th)
Preparing hearts and minds for influence
Rhetoric School Overview
In the Rhetoric stage, students apply the rules of logic to all the information they have learned in previous stages and express themselves with clarity and confidence. Here, they dive deeply into each subject: exploring poetry in literature, studying Physics in science, tackling Calculus in mathematics, and thoughtfully considering God’s call on their lives through Theology. This stage equips students not only for academic success, but for a lifetime of faithful influence.

Rhetoric School Elective Courses
Arts
Through music, theater, and visual arts, students not only cultivate creativity and skill but also learn to reflect the beauty and order of God’s creation. Rooted in the traditions of Classical Christian education, the arts become a means of shaping character, nurturing discipline, and inspiring students to use their gifts for the glory of Christ.
College Guidance
At Coram Deo Academy, we recognize that preparing for college is an exciting and sometimes overwhelming journey for families. That’s why we offer a comprehensive College Guidance program designed to walk alongside parents and students every step of the way. From one-on-one meetings with a College Advisor to college fairs, campus tours, and parent workshops, families receive the tools and support they need to navigate the admissions process with confidence.
More than simply focusing on applications, our goal is to prepare students academically, spiritually, and personally so they are ready not only to be admitted to the right college, but to thrive once they get there.

Are there opportunities for leadership development in Rhetoric School?
CDA’s House System serves as a form of student government, giving students opportunities to grow as leaders while building relationships and serving others. Houses work together on service projects and chapels while also enjoying friendly competition in academics and athletics.
Is Latin mandatory for Rhetoric School students?
At CDA, Latin I is a graduation requirement. Following CDA's curriculum, this course is typically completed in 8th grade. For students entering CDA in grades 6 and above, we offer a week of Summer Latin Camp to help orient your student before the start of school.
Because Latin I is a CDA graduation requirement, the class often is offered on Fridays to facilitate scheduling for new Rhetoric School students. After completing Latin I, Rhetoric School students have the option of continuing with Latin or taking Spanish I and II.
