Admissions

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a parent. Our team is here to answer your questions and help you discover if CDA is a good fit for your family.

We invite you to schedule a visit and learn more about our Christian, Classical, and Collaborative model. The admissions coordinator at your preferred campus is ready to assist you. As a covenantal Christian school, CDA requires at least one parent to be a professing believer actively involved in a local church that adheres to the Nicene Creed.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

Applications open each year on November 1. Explore the steps below, and feel free to connect with your campus Admissions Coordinator with questions.

Schedule a Visit

Walk the halls, see our classrooms, and experience CDA firsthand! Admission tours and events take place monthly from October to April. Create an account to register for a tour and receive more information.

Submit Church Information & Pay Application Fee

Applications open annually on Nov. 1st. Your child's best opportunity to be considered for our most competitive grades will be to complete CDA's admissions process during the priority round. To enter the first round of applications, please submit your church information and pay the application non-refundable application fee by December 15.

Complete Application

Please follow your child's customized checklist in the Admissions Portal. All documentation, assessments, and references must be received in order to complete your child's application file and be considered for an interview.

Await Invitation for Interview

Once your application file is complete, you will be eligible to be invited for an interview. At that time, your Admissions Coordinator will contact you with information on your interview with the school Principal(s).

Review Admissions Decision

Round 1 admissions decisions will be communicated no later than March 6.

Do you make accommodations for learning differences?

We do not make academic or behavioral accommodations. The CDA model has worked for some students with minor accommodation needs because the parent is able to make accommodations at home, and the student is able to manage the classroom environment two days/week.

Does CDA offer financial aid?

Yes, limited financial aid is available to families with a demonstrated need. Only partial awards are available. For more information, please visit our Tuition page to learn more.

Does the church reference need to be completed by the head pastor?

No. Any church leader with spiritual oversight of your family (such as an elder, small group leader) may complete the reference.

Do I need a church reference for each child I am applying for?

No. Only one Church Reference is needed per family. This reference should be completed by someone that has spiritual oversight for your family.

We are not Christians. Can we still apply?

We ask that at least one parent must be a professing Christian and actively involved in a local church adhering to the Nicene Creed. We are an intentional Christian community and require this of our faculty, staff, Rhetoric School (High School) students and applicant families. Please view our Statement of Faith.

We are Christian but we don't attend church. Can we apply?

We require a Church Reference for all applicants. If a family wishes to apply but does not have a home church, we ask that they attend church, get involved, and then apply for admission.

How soon can I apply?

Families may apply for the upcoming school year as early as November 1. Late applications (after May 1) may be received on a space-available basis; please contact your admissions coordinator for more information. The non-refundable application fee is paid online when the application is submitted.

What Admissions test do you use and how well does my child need to score?

Kindergarten & First Grade

Kindergarten and first grade applicants take age-appropriate assessments which are administered on campus during a weekday. The testing cost is included in your child's application fee.

Grades 2–12

Applicants to second grade and above take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam). Parents register and pay for the ISEE directly with the testing company but the student tests at a CDA campus.

Test Scores

We are looking for prospective students to test at grade level or above during admissions testing. The standard is higher for late or mid-year applications due to the rigorous pace of our academics.

I don't have a teaching background. How can I be successful in the Collaborative model?

Most of our parents do not have education degrees! Selection of curriculum, teaching new concepts and assessments are all provided by professional educators.

On home days, parents provide age-appropriate supervision and help the student stay on task with assignments, study for assessments and prepare for speeches, debates, etc.

Visit the Collaborative Model page to learn more.

Upcoming Events by Campus

Search for your preferred campus (Collin County, Dallas, or Flower Mound) to see upcoming events. After registering, please monitor your Admissions Portal inbox for a confirmation email.

Admissions Coordinators

“We have homeschooled our children, but I knew my son needed a little more than what I could do on my own. CDA has given our son the challenges he needed, an opportunity to play sports, and a circle of friends who share our faith in God.”

CDA Parent

"I like the fact that CDA is small enough to have a relationship with almost all other students and teachers. It’s a community and not just a school."

CDA Student

Logic School

"We have felt so welcomed by staff and current families during our move to CDA - it has been such an easy transition for our whole family. The level of education that our daughter is receiving gives us great confidence in her preparation for the future."

CDA Parent

"The curriculum in Pre-K is effective, and the teaching is outstanding! Students go on nature walks and draw pictures while having fun learning numbers and letters—that’s exactly what Pre-K students should do. They should enjoy learning."

CDA Parent

Pre-K

CDA has blessed our family with an abundance of grace, love and truth that has been poured into our children. I am constantly amazed at the teachers and how they love my children so well and teach with enthusiasm, creativity, and energy. We will be at CDA for many years to come!

CDA Parent

"The curriculum and instruction in fourth grade have led to tremendous growth in my child. He has learned far more than academic skills; he has also improved on his habits and virtues."
