CDA Is My Ace - Jocelyn Nordin

Jocelyn Nordin
"CDA has also influenced my faith.  This school has given me the opportunity to understand how God fits in with the rest of the world. We learn how God has a place in math, science, history, English, Latin, sewing, and even athletics, because He is the one who created all these things.  My faith and understanding have grown because of the amazing Bible classes I have been taking at CDA since kindergarten. CDA also helps me understand other religions, their beliefs, and what they are lacking, which makes it easier me to spread the gospel and helps me understand what God offers others through my faith."
Coram Deo Academy isn’t just a place I go to hang out with my best friends. It’s my ACE--that amazing volleyball shot that wins the point. It is a place where my fellow students and I are not only given the opportunity to learn more than the average person, but we learn a lot things with real-life value. Also, we gain more understanding by bouncing ideas off our (as quoted by a friend) “academically encouraging, faith-building classmates.” CDA has many team structured activities like house, speech and debate, science labs, and athletics that encourage us as students to have friendly disputes, which provides different perspectives.

Some of my accomplishments have been greatly influenced by CDA. I was able to qualify for a top club volleyball team for 14-year-olds, and I have had the opportunity to be on the top volleyball team for Junior High here at CDA.  The ways CDA influenced these accomplishments is by the amazing girls’ volleyball program, which gave me my first volleyball training, regardless of my size or experience. It has afforded me the opportunity to excel, even as an underclassman.

CDA has also influenced my faith. CDA also helps me understand other religions, their beliefs, and what they are lacking, which makes it easier me to spread the gospel and helps me understand what God offers others through my faith.

This year I have had to learn to manage my time because of my busy schedule with volleyball.  I have had to be very efficient in my work to ensure I don’t waste this incredible education.  Also, I have learned to work harder so that I can stay in sports and close with my classmates. All these experiences and relationships will last far beyond my time here at CDA.
