Opening Speech Tournament Success!

CDA Fine Arts
The Coram Deo Academy speech and debate team attended the opening tournament of the year at Plano Senior High/Clark High School in Plano.

This tournament, known as a swing tournament, is really two tournaments that run at the same time!

Epic competition, beginning students' observations from the Collin County and Flower Mound teams, and a busy day left the team with success and trophies!
Junior Elizabeth Branch competed in International Extemporaneous Speaking and sophomore Drew Walker competed in Humorous Interpretation.

Juniors Madi Pitts and Thomas Sorensen both were in the semi-finals of Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking, and Thomas also was a Prose Reading semi-finalist.

Sophomore Madeline Belknap placed first in Informative Speaking in both the Plano Senior and the Clark tournaments, qualifying her for the Texas Forensic State Tournament in Houston during spring break. Madeline's wins also have qualified her for the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions in May in Omaha, Nebraska!

Coaches Abby Boerger, Gerri Colvin, and Hope Larimer would like to thank Camree and Dean Belknap for their support of the team at this opening tournament.
