Ms. Megan Best - Class of 2010

Megan graduated in 2010 and returned to Coram Deo Academy in 2015 as a teacher at the Flower Mound campus.

You can see how Megan exemplifies a servant leader from her own words - " I believe that working to the glory of God can happen only when we walk humbly with Him. The impact I dare to make in the world is that people see the light of God when they see my deeds or hear my words. I must diminish for him to be magnified."

WHAT DREW YOU TO YOUR CURRENT CAREER/POSITION?
As an alumna of Coram Deo Academy, I know the greatness of the community and the education it offers. After graduating from university, I wanted to once again commit to a community that values not only the human intellect, but also humanity’s relationship to God. it humbles me to be among the faculty at CDA now. It is a joy and privilege to teach students about literature, Latin, and grammar. I also enjoy teaching electives on Friday. The students, families, staff, and faculty welcomed me with open hearts, and I am beyond grateful to name CDA my place of calling.

WHAT IMPACT DO YOU HOPE TO MAKE IN THE WORLD IN CONTEXT OF CDA’S MISSION?
Lately, I have been thinking about how a person can work to the glory of God. CDA’s mission statement reminds me of Micah 6:8—“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God (NIV).” I believe that working to the glory of God can happen only when we walk humbly with Him. The impact I dare to make in the world is that people see the light of God when they see my deeds or hear my words. I must diminish for him to be magnified.

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE GOALS/ASPIRATIONS? I hope to continue my education at some point in the future. I also would like to write a book. Both of those dreams are vague at the moment, but I know that the Lord will guide where he wants, and I’m ready for the “adventure of a lifetime.”
