Exciting opportunities are ahead for the Collin County campus! After recently acquiring our neighboring property, CDA leadership is developing an updated campus master plan to best serve students.

“In the coming school year, Collin County students will benefit from the addition of four new classrooms and a multipurpose space to our campus. Our 9th-12th grade students will also begin having classes in their very own Rhetoric Building,” said Robin Scott, Collin County Headmaster. “We’re working with a general contractor to prepare the space, which includes installing new carpet, fresh paint, and moving a few walls to expand four classrooms. It’s an exciting step forward as we continue to fully resource and enhance the learning environment for our students.”

Since 2013, Cornerstone Church has leased its building, parking lot, and modular buildings from Coram Deo Academy. The original lease agreement was set to end in 2045 and offered a purchase option at that time. While school leaders were praying for additional classroom space, Cornerstone Church approached CDA and offered the opportunity to purchase the release of both the lease and buyback option—opening the door for exciting new developments on campus

“God continues to bless Coram Deo Academy, and we are so grateful to Him for providing this new space which will serve generations of CDA students and families,” said Dr. Jeff Johnson, CDA President. “The future is bright for the Collin County Campus, and we are excited to see where God leads us over the years to come.”

The recent acquisition includes the former Cornerstone Church building and ownership of the entire parcel of land at the corner of Independence Parkway and Ridgeview Drive. This summer, the former church building is being lightly remodeled and will officially become our Rhetoric building, freeing up classrooms on campus.

An updated master plan for Collin County will consider the newly available space and determine how it can serve students in academic, fine arts, and athletic programs. More details about the master plan next steps will be shared in the coming months.

For now, we are thanking God for this direct answer to our prayers to provide additional classroom space. We’re also grateful to the school’s board and our administration for their leadership and dedication in helping our campus reach this important milestone.
