Joy, Growth, and Purpose: The Crawford Family Story

Christian education has always been central to our family. When our four children were young, I homeschooled them using a rich, classical curriculum. When, as a full-time ministry family, circumstances led me back to the workplace, I began teaching in public school while our children attended with me. In that season, the Lord faithfully surrounded us with godly teachers and administrators, an answer to many prayers.

As culture shifted, however, we felt a growing conviction to return to a Christ-centered education, though the path forward was unclear. During this time, we noticed our son Jett struggling in his environment. The qualities we hoped to nurture in him were no longer being encouraged. We prayed specifically that, if change was needed, the Lord would place that desire on Jett’s heart. After months of prayer, he came to us and said, “I think I need a change.” It was a clear answer.

We were drawn to Coram Deo Academy for its commitment to Biblical teaching, academic rigor, and discipleship. From our first interactions, we sensed the Lord’s presence. During his interview, Jett expressed a desire to grow as a Christian man and how difficult that was becoming where he currently was, words that confirmed our direction.

At CDA, our children are not just learning, they are being discipled. Through their teachers, coaches, friendships, and studies, they are growing into thoughtful, servant-hearted leaders. One of our children recently shared, “I’m excited to go back to school; learning has become like a hobby.” That joy reflects a deeper transformation.

Though our journey here was unexpected, and there are many days we wish we were here all along, we trust the Lord’s timing. The difference in our children is clear: renewed joy, growth, and purpose. We are deeply grateful to call Coram Deo home.
