CDA Student Earns Place in All-State Band, All-State Orchestra, and Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the USA
This year, Levi earned coveted spots in both the TPSMEA All-State Band and the prestigious TMEA All-State Symphony Orchestra. Notably, Levi chose to compete on the highly competitive 6A track—against the largest public schools in Texas—and placed 2nd out of approximately 2,000 French horn players statewide. This marks his second consecutive year earning a chair in the TMEA All-State Symphony Orchestra, a truly exceptional feat.
Levi’s accomplishments extend beyond the state level. In February, he was selected for Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the USA (NYO-USA), an elite ensemble open to citizens and permanent residents aged 16–19. Following a two-week residency in New York City, Levi will perform at Carnegie Hall before embarking on a six-city concert tour of Asia, playing in world-renowned venues across Japan, China, and South Korea. All expenses are covered through Carnegie Hall’s Weill Institute of Music.
In addition to these honors, Levi also auditioned for and was awarded the position of Assistant Principal Horn with the Plano Symphony Orchestra—his first professional symphony role.
“Levi is one of the most dedicated musicians I’ve had the privilege to work with,” said CDA Band Director Elizabeth Bowen. “His work ethic, musical maturity, and desire to serve our ensemble musically in whatever capacity is needed make him a joy to teach and an inspiration to others. Levi’s accomplishments reflect not only his dedication and talent, but also the kind of environment CDA fosters— one where students are encouraged to pursue excellence in every area.”
At Coram Deo Academy, students like Levi flourish not only through rigorous academics but also through opportunities in the fine arts and a supportive community that challenges them to pursue their gifts—in the classroom, on the stage, and beyond.
