Lions, tigers, and bears - oh, my! AP Environmental Science students from the Flower Mound and Collin County campuses alike toured the Ft Worth Zoo to assume the role of zoologist for the day.
Their task was to observe and record qualitative data for animals they pre-selected to research. The observations included a focus on social behaviors, interactions with fellow species, etc.
In the coming weeks, students will continue learning at home by engineering habitat models with a teammate. Their models will be data-driven in that they will take their research and observations into account when considering the design and amenities.
Teams will present their models in class in the early part of November.
