Save the Date: Saturday, May  15th, at 4:00 p.m. at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, TX.

Have you ever wondered– What is the purpose of all of the hours of memorization, tests, and assignments that you have to work through as CDA families?  Our mission is to raise up ethical servant leaders and wise thinkers who will shape culture for the glory of God. The CDA-Collin County Commencement is an opportunity to see all this come together as you watch our students prepare for the next season of life.  If you are a pre-K through 11th grade family, please plan on joining us for this day and prepare to be encouraged!  Over the next several months, we will be featuring our class of 2021 seniors to give you an opportunity to meet them before you join us for the celebration May 15.  This week’s featured senior is Joseph Scroggins.

Siblings:  Jonathan (10th)

Grade started CDA: 6th

Activities while in HS :  Baseball, basketball, choir, worship band, chaplain, battle sergeant, Newton president, Art of Problem Solving teaching assistant and front desk staff member, piano, Speech and Debate

Favorite moment at CDA:  It’s hard to pick a specific moment, but perhaps the most vivid was being the assistant coach of junior high baseball my freshman year. We had an amazing team and put together an amazing run that season. It was a lot of fun being able to encourage them and watch them grow as players as the season progressed. Probably my favorite moment was during the playoffs when my brother Jonathan hit a triple. The whole dugout went crazy. It was an awesome moment.

Colleges applied to: Texas A&M University

Possible career path:  Electrical Engineering

How has CDA prepared you to be an ethical servant leader and wise thinker in order to shape culture for the glory of God?  Coram Deo has taught me how to serve and encourage others. Teachers and coaches of mine have been role models in these areas and I want to reflect the work and effort they put into our school. CDA has given me opportunities to learn and grow, and my teachers and coaches prepared me to bring joy and hope to our culture.
