TAPPS Team Does Great at State Academic and Speech Competition

Mrs. Gerri Colvin
The Coram Deo Academy TAPPS team walked away in the top ten of twenty-five schools at the 4A TAPPS State Academics and Speech competition. The contest, held at the Waco Convention Center, was a ninth place finish for this year's squad.
Last year's Coram Deo Academy yearbook, The Lion's Roar, placed sixth out of fifteen yearbooks in this year's contest, earning points towards the Henderson Cup.  Mrs. Auvenshine was very pleased with this placing from last year's yearbook staff.
Outstanding speaking and acting performances by semi-finalist Elizabeth Branch in persuasive and Daniel Mankarious in prose were only the beginning of the team's success on Wednesday.  Daniel placed eighth and Thomas Sorensen placed third in Solo Acting and Madeline Belknap was second place runner-up in Persuasive Speaking.  Thomas is the TAPPS State champion in Prose Reading and Madeline is the TAPPS State champion in Original Oratory!
Mrs. Boerger and Mrs. Colvin would like to thank Dean and Camree Belknap for taking care of team needs during competition and being a tremendous support all year long.  Congratulation to CDA Yearbook and Speech Team.
