Jeremiah Betron
Director of Development
Jeremiah was born and raised in a small Michigan town. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Medical Technology and received a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He has served in faithful stints as the Lead Pastor at Bethel Church in South Dakota, the Co-Lead Pastor at Grace Bible Church in Nacogdoches, Texas, and as the Pastor of Operations at Irving Bible Church here in North Texas. Jeremiah's wife, Amanda, teaches in Logic School at CDA’s Flower Mound campus. They have two daughters, Sedah and Anne, who are in Logic and Grammer Schools there. The Betrons choose CDA as their school because of the collaborative approach to education, as well as its commitment to biblical, Christian truth.
An avid outdoorsman and Camp Gladiator certified personal trainer and coach, Jeremiah keeps himself physically active. Since March 2022, he has completed nine half and full Ironman triathlons, as well as several shorter distance races and has no plans of stopping anytime soon. When he’s not swimming, biking, running, or strength training, he’s reading Sci-Fi books and putting together puzzles. But most importantly, Jeremiah loves spending time with his family and embarking on great adventures all around the globe.

Tara Higgins
Director of Marketing & Communications
Dr. Jeffrey Johnson
President and CEO
Dr. Johnson came to Coram Deo Academy from a background in higher ed, most recently at Dallas Baptist University, where he led as dean of the College of Business and Vice President of Advancement. Dr. Johnson also served as executive pastor of Grace Community Church in East Texas, for more than a decade, where he also oversaw operations for the church’s 1000-student K-12 school. He had a twenty-year career in business, starting in the early 1980’s with Price Waterhouse here in Dallas. In addition to his extensive work experience, Dr. Johnson holds a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Dallas Baptist University; an M.A. in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary; an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University; and a B.S. in Accounting from Bob Jones University. Dr. Johnson and his wife, Lisa, have been married for over 40 years, raising 3 children, and now have 4 grandchildren.
Dr. Johnson is an avid cyclist, but because it’s a madhouse out there and he is getting a little older, he rides mostly on a trainer in his garage. He loves to spend time with his grandsons Kelly and Patrick and his new twin granddaughters, Elizabeth and Evelyn. He also reads a lot, will take a nap when given the opportunity, and loves being with his wife, Lisa! Who is the best wife and friend ever!
When it comes to reading, he tries to go to the classics as well as new writing, generally preferring fiction to non-fiction. He has most recently read The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis, Big Dumb Eyes by Nate Bargatze, and Lafayette by Harlow Giles Unger, so he would describe himself as an eclectic reader. He is striving to read over one hundred books this year, although he has a way to go! Lifetime learning, let’s go!
If you ask Dr. Johnson about his favorite snacks, he will tell you that he likes all snacks, but he'll most easily indulge in Reese's, Peanut M&Ms, cake, ice cream, chips and salsa, or "anything really." He wonders if you can get twinkies delivered to his office?
He and Lisa have one dog, Lexi, who is a miniature schnauzer, and a pretty good dog. He's truly most inspired by his wife, Lisa, who makes him want to be a better man and to live a better Christian life every day. He also has been impacted by Timothy Keller’s writing, and of course, the Apostle Paul – he especially loves the book of Romans! Have you read Romans 8:1 – There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! Praise God!
Barbara Rogers
Director of Admissions
As Director of Admissions, Barbara Rogers oversees new student admissions for all CDA campuses and supports reenrollment at the district level. Drawing upon her experience as a homeschooling parent and former college admissions counselor, Barbara has been shepherding new students into the fold of CDA since 2001 and assumed the role of admissions director in 2006.
The Rogers’ family aspired to homeschool classically and turned to CDA for a stronger foundation when the academy opened its doors in 1999. With first-hand knowledge of the school’s Christian, classical, and collaborative program, Barbara is passionate about helping families embrace CDA’s model. She enthusiastically affirms the investment of time, talent, and treasure is quite worth it!
Barbara earned her BA in Drama from the University of Dallas. She has directed an alumni opera production at UD and also taught Shakespearean drama for CDA. Her husband, Greg, keeps their family amused with his music, poetry and exhaustive knowledge of history. Together they enjoy sharing truth, goodness, and beauty with their adult children and seven grandchildren.
Michele Simms
Director of Community Engagement
Michelle has always been excited to share great stories and good news with others, which is what led her to a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science at Pepperdine University.
After graduating, Michelle spent several years at NBC Network News as a field producer covering the OJ Simpson trial for the Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, Today Show, and Dateline. She also helped produce Today Show entertainment segments in Los Angeles interviewing celebrities. After moving to Texas, Michelle’s passion turned to marketing and events … applying many of those public relations, psychology, and communications classes, but also self-learning what drives herself and others to make decisions to buy products or attend events.
Collaborating with teams at businesses, schools, and churches in various roles, her decades of experience include fundraising & development, marketing strategy, social media content, writing, graphic design, emceeing, and webinar hosting. She has served as a certified EC-6 teacher, built the creative sides of websites, developed an online school, revamped one school's admissions process, and taught fifth grade.
Michelle joined Coram Deo Academy in August 2020 and has served in donor relations, development, marketing, and community engagement. She's been highly involved on the annual gala committee and loves working with PTF and athletics on campus golf tournaments or gathering all campuses together for the Business Leaders Luncheon.
A California native and pilot’s daughter who spent a handful of her childhood years overseas in Saudi Arabia, Michelle has now lived in North Texas for more than two decades with her husband, former Major Leaguer Mike Simms. They love traveling, discovering new restaurants, and are dipping their toe into the world of pickleball. Mike and Michelle are active members at their church through small group and bible study and have two daughters, Sabrina (Oklahoma class of 2022, who married Ben in 2025) and Gabrielle (CDA Class of 2021, Texas Tech Class of 2026).
Andrea Woodard
Director of Curriculum and Instruction
How does the Socratic method prepare students for the digital age? How can our curriculum be designed to create moments of aporia that force students to sit with a question, to truly wonder, before they seek an easy answer? How do we help parents navigate the challenges of academic discipleship in a culture focused on productivity and performance?
These are the kinds of questions that Dr. Woodard ponders daily in her role as Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Raised oversees in a home filled with theology and linguistics, she was trained from a young age to ask real questions and pursue the answers around the dinner table in order to better serve the least of these by bringing the Word of God to the minority languages of southern Mexico. She carried this deep interest in learning and languages to her studies at Wheaton College and then Baylor University, where she pursued advanced degrees in Spanish Language Acquisition. She taught Spanish and modern languages for thirteen years at the university, high school, and lower levels.
While she maintains a deep love for language instruction, Andrea would describe her life calling now as "serving students, families, and teachers to pursue excellence in Christ-centered learning in order to transform the future and glorify God through the expansion of His kingdom." She served as Director of Curriculum and Instruction for a large Christian school in Virginia while completing a PhD in Education with a concentration in Curriculum, Culture, and Change at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2023, Dr. Woodard joined the district staff at CDA to support teachers and families in pursuing this goal. She is responsible for organizing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the total curriculum and instructional program, pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade at all CDA campuses.
The Woodard family is committed to serving and learning together, and the collaborative model has proved to be the perfect fit for their children - Aquinas and Anastasia - who attend the Dallas campus. They are also actively involved in their church, Park Cities Baptist Church, where Aaron serves on staff and Andrea participates through the Missions Committee and in Middle School student ministry. When they're not at church or school, the Woodards spend time with Andrea's family, explore the many parks of Farmers Branch, and enjoy cheering on the Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
