Christy Axford

Trustee

Christy Axford has been a CDA parent for more than twelve years and is committed to the success of the school for her children, their peers, and future generations. She believes the most valuable thing we can offer our children is biblical wisdom and appreciates that CDA provides it through a Christian, classical, and collaborative model.

Josh Born

Trustee

Josh serves as a trustee on the board and has been a CDA family at the Flower Mound Campus since 2015. He and his wife, Ellie, live in Grapevine with their three boys: Porter, Sawyer, and Isaac. Josh has served as a seasonal coach and is the owner and principal broker of KEEP Real Estate Holdings, LLC. 

Joshua Curlett 

Trustee

Joshua Curlett is the CEO of SoundPro, the premier Pro Audio, Video and Lighting Sales and Distribution company servicing North America. Under his leadership, he has initiated changes in the daily business operations as well as the long term financial strategy to improve both supply-chain processing and accounting reporting.  SoundPro has grown to be the largest private company in the AVL distribution industry. SoundPro has seen many awards ranging from a top fast growing company in North America to KPMG’s prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year award.

In addition to measuring the increased profitability, Joshua’s vision for the company focuses on the personal growth of each team member. He believes in empowering every person by giving them the necessary tools and training for greater success. Daily he encourages a culture where transparency is required, accountability is expected, and mistakes are seen as teachable moments. Many of the process improvements that Joshua has established are gateways that broke down the barriers to communication, a necessary change for both personal and organization progress.

Outside of Sound Productions, Joshua has lent his direction and leadership as a committee leader and board member for Broadway Dallas, Educational First Steps, Perot Museum and Fair Park’s Management Group. Joshua received his BBA from Baylor University and his MBA from Southern Methodist University. Additionally, he has completed research through several international universities and attended courses at the Disney Institute in Florida.

Katie Gaultney

Trustee

Katie Gaultney is a Dallas-based journalist. Her experience runs the gamut from parade planning to speechwriting; earning her master’s degree in liberal studies; and becoming a mom of four. Gaultney has written for publications like Christianity Today and WORLD, and she supports fellow journalists through her involvement with Zenger House, a nonprofit that honors and awards writers producing street-level, biblically objective work.

She and her husband of nearly 20 years, Brad, serve in marriage ministry at their church, Watermark. A proponent of classical, Christian education, Gaultney’s children have attended Coram Deo Academy since 2015, when her oldest entered pre-kindergarten. She has served as a trustee of the institution since 2020, filling the roles of chair and vice chair variously throughout her tenure. 

Stephen Hancock

Trustee

Stephen and his wife, Lauren, have been married for 21 years and first met as students at Baylor University. Although not Dallas natives, they have called the area home since 2004. They have two children at the Dallas campus—one in Logic School and one in Grammar School. The emphasis on parent involvement in Christian education initially drew them to CDA in 2022, and their entire family continues to be enriched by the relationships that they have formed within the CDA community and with its staff. Stephen is a CPA with over 20 years of experience in public accounting and corporate finance. He currently helps manage a family-owned business during the workweek. Lauren frequently volunteers her time and occasionally serves as a substitute school nurse at the Dallas campus.

Tyler Hufstetler

Trustee

Tyler Hufstetler, a native of Collin County, graduated from Allen High School before attending the United States Military Academy at West Point. After graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the Field Artillery, serving in various capacities, from a small unit advisor in Afghanistan to contributing to strategy for the Field Artillery branch. Following his military service, Tyler pursued a Master’s Degree in Business at the University of Southern California while working in the oil and gas industry. 

Currently, Tyler is employed at a technology company focusing on building revenue through channel partnerships. He has also acquired and developed several local businesses. Active in the Collin County community, Tyler serves on the board of a non-profit health care clinic, Community Health Clinic, dedicated to providing free health care to the working poor. Additionally, he is involved in various civic organizations. 

Tyler and his wife, Erin, were married in 2011 and are the parents of four children, all of whom attend Coram Deo: Ella, Ben, Luke and Grace. The family attends Reformation Church in Allen, Texas.

Matt McCollum

Trustee

Matt is currently serving as a Trustee on the board. Matt and his wife, Courtney, have four children who all attend CDA in Flower Mound. They have attended CDA since 2022. Matt and Courtney are covenant members of Citizen's Church in Plano, where they currently serve as home group coaches. Matt began his career in public accounting with KPMG as a financial statement auditor, providing proficient financial understanding and analytical skills. Since 2010, Matt has pursued multiple entrepreneurial endeavors with a heavy focus in real estate. The various areas of focus have included brokerage, property management, development, and acquisition. Currently, Matt owns and manages multiple self-storage facilities in and around the state of Texas. Matt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University. 

Christopher Norfleet

Trustee

Christopher serves as Chair of the board of trustees and has been part of the CDA community at the Dallas Campus since 2012. He and his wife, Corrie, live in North Dallas with their three children: Sadie, Erin, and Jack.

 

Joshua Bailey

Advisor

Joshua Bailey is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Dwell, the leading audio Bible app serving hundreds of thousands globally. Prior to Dwell, he built and exited several startups in faith, media, and tech, each pursuing the same through-line: presenting Christian truth with beauty, clarity, and thoughtful design. He loves shaping product vision, leading high-performing teams, and bringing exceptional products to market.

His graduate work in Classics at the University of Dallas opened him to the riches of the Western tradition and gave rise to a growing conviction about the cultural formation of the next generation. He and his wife, Kim, have been married for eighteen years. Their family has been part of the CDA community in Collin County for the past five years, drawn by its commitment to classical Christian education.

Britton Church

Advisor

Britton serves as an advisor on the board and has been a CDA family at Dallas Campus since 2016. He and his wife, Beth, live in Richardson with their three children: Caleb, Lillian, and Adleigh. Britton is the Founder of Maneo Ventures, bringing a wealth of experience in real estate investment and development. Prior to establishing Maneo Ventures, Britton served as a Partner at Ascent Investment Partners.
