Mid-Cities will eventually add middle school grade levels; many classical schools identify grades 5-8 as Logic School. During this stage, the students study the relationship of facts they learned at the grammar stage and how these facts fit or work together. Logic School is a place where more questions are asked and deeper understanding is pursued. Our curriculum is designed to move students beyond questions of who
, and when
, and into the brave new world of why and how. You may not have an answer key for every homework assignment, because part of the goal of the Logic School is to teach students the art of intellectual struggle. Although Bible is not a separate subject after 5th grade, a Biblical worldview is interwoven into the teaching of all subjects.
“I'm very thankful for all the teachers, coaches, and staff who pour into my son. They affirm his gifts & abilities and guide him with grace & patience when he needs correction. As the culture gets more challenging, I feel 100% confident when I drop him off at CDA that next to our home or church, he is in the best hands. I see him growing into a leader more each week and I'm thankful for everyone at CDA for seeing the best in him, encouraging him, & helping him to be a wise thinker!” Logic School Parent
Logic students will attend core classes on Monday/Wednesday. Logic School is a wonderful time to discover and explore new interests. Optional Friday electives give Logic students an opportunity to enhance their learning through a variety of enrichment offerings.
All of this and more takes place alongside a community of dedicated and experienced faculty who are committed to partnering with families to train ethical servant-leaders and wise thinkers who will shape culture for the glory of God.
