Noonday Prayer - Joining Christians Around the World to Celebrate Maundy Thursday

Katie Beth Pelley
This week in Noonday Prayer, we join Christians worldwide to celebrate and remember Holy Week - the week Jesus spent leading up to His Resurrection.
Today we discussed Maundy Thursday, commemorating events such as the Washing of the Feet and the Last Supper.

Rev. Jordan led Noonday Prayer by reading from John 13. He described how Jesus did not give His disciples a sermon about who He was leading up to his death, but rather Jesus showed them who He was by washing His disciples’ feet.

Instead of giving CDA Dallas students a sermon, Dean Hatteburg and Mrs. Southerland made the passage come to life as they washed Mr. Hicks’s and Mrs. Paine’s feet. Following them, the teachers then washed the students’ feet.

This week we remember Jesus’s death, celebrate His resurrection, and live in the hope of new life in Christ!

John 13:12-15

12 When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? 13 You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.
