2024 Choir Mission Trip To Norway

Elizabeth Rogers
Over spring break this year, twenty-two members of Electus Vox (rhetoric select choir), along with six parent chaperones, and CDA FM faculty participated in a choir mission trip to Norway. While there, Electus Vox sang at many places, including churches dating back to the 1200's and at the Oslo Opera House. The choir performances were divided into four categories: songs of the Earth, songs of hope, songs of Christ’s life, and songs of Benediction. Our students also sang the Norwegian National Anthem.
During the week the kids visited with four different youth groups, a high school in Vinstra known for Norwegian folk music, and took an intensive theater class on Norwegian storytelling. Our students came with mission bags containing American candy and a QR code with the gospel for our new Norwegian friends! Our free time was filled with touring the Lillehammer Olympic Park, sledding on the ski slopes, crossing the border into Sweden to a candy store, and karaoke night. We ate like Norwegians, including eating Norwegian chocolate- yum!

Many students gave their testimonies with confidence. We were all encouraged to remember the power of the Holy Spirit that is in us as we minister to others. We now have new friends and new seeds were planted a world away.
