Selecting a school for your child can be a daunting task. With so many options in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, the decision may become almost overwhelming. To help you determine if Coram Deo Academy meets your expectations and is a good fit for your family, there are several opportunities to discover what makes CDA’s approach to classical Christian education unique.
Click here to view the complete schedule of Campus Visit Days and Evening Information Meetings. Attendance of one of these events and/or the CDA Preview in January is a required step for families making application to CDA for the first time. Listening to the online version of the Information Meeting will also fulfill this requirement; however, at least one parent must attend a live meeting or come for campus visitation.
Please peruse the CDA website and read the Parent-Student Manual. You will be asked if you have done so when you fill out the application.
In addition to a sampling of current CDA parents’ testimonials, you may also find it helpful to review the comments made by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Accreditation Team at their September 29 debriefing: http://coramdeoacademy.org/content/headmaster/accreditation.php.

Admissions Testing
Students entering PreK and Kindergarten
Click here for a print-friendly summary of PreK through 4th grade testing.
Testing for PreK students will be conducted during the second semester of the PreK academic year to ensure readiness for entrance into Kindergarten the following year. The cost of this test is included in your application fee for the PreK Program; however, the actual assessment will be deferred until a more developmentally appropriate age.
How is testing Kindergarten scheduled?
Upon receipt of your child's online application, the admission coordinator will
contact you by phone or email to schedule testing.
Can the $200 application fee be paid on the
test day?
No, the non-refundable application fee should be received before testing is
scheduled. You may pay by credit card online when submitting the online application
or you may pay by check (made payable to Coram Deo Academy). Credit card payments
may also be phoned into the Business Office by calling 972-691-5648, ext 301
during business hours. If paying by check, please mail or hand deliver your
payment prior to the test day to the appropriate campus. Clearly indicate applicant's
name, grade level and campus on all correspondence.
What, where and when is testing offered to Kindergarten
candidates?
An early-education specialist administers the Missouri Kindergarten Inventory
of Developmental Skills in a one-on-one session. No special preparation is necessary;
this developmental readiness assessment is given in a caring and non-threatening
manner on the campus to which the family is applying. Generally, Kindergarten
testing is scheduled on Fridays from January to May; however, additional
days may be offered according to your campus' schedule.
How long will the test session last?
Although we allow an hour for each appointment, the testing usually is completed
in about 45 minutes.
Should a parent stay on campus during the test
session?
Yes, due to the brevity of the session and the young age of the applicants,
we ask that a parent (or grandparent/close friend) remain on campus during the
test. You will accompany your child into the testing room, meet the proctor,
and then be dismissed to fill out a brief questionnaire in another room. Although
you may not remain with your child during the session, some children find it
comforting to know that you are nearby.
What does my child need to bring?
Nothing. The test administrator will provide all that is needed.
What should my child wear?
Students may dress casually but are asked not to wear jeans. They may want to
bring a sweater/sweatshirt in case the testing room is chilly.
Can supporting documents be turned in on the
test day?
Yes, supporting documents for Kindergarten applicants may be delivered to the
office staff or turned in to the proctor at the test session. Please clearly
indicate your child's name, grade level and campus on all correspondence. It
is preferable to turn in altogether if possible. The admissions coordinator
will also confirm your family interview time or set one if not previously scheduled.
N.B., a complete file is required prior to the family interview.
When we will get the test results?
The School Director will review the test results during the admission interview
and provide a copy for you to keep. Both parents of new families
must accompany the applicant to the interview which lasts approximately
30 minutes. Current CDA families applying for a younger sibling need only 1
parent in attendance; however, both are most welcome to come if desired.
