Coram Deo Academy Headmaster Bio

Rodney J. Marshall: Bio

Rodney J. Marshall serves as Founder, President and Headmaster of Coram Deo Academy, a classical Christian school collaborating with hundreds of families in Dallas/Fort Worth, as Publisher of Coram Deo Press and as a public speaker, educational consultant and essayist.

Born in 1955, baptized as a covenant child and confirmed at age twelve, Rodney later led as President of his senior class and school wide student council. He was high school varsity MVP and later played NCAA D1 baseball before injury terminated his athletic ambitions. Rodney graduated with honors from the College of Business and Economics at Washington State University and subsequently completed a Master of Divinity. Ordained into the gospel ministry in 1981, he has ministered as a Presbyterian elder, a pastor and church and bible college administrator; launched and oversaw a radio station, was a founder and principal of a Christian school; developed home school academies; worked as college and career counselor, and President of a public policy advocacy foundation. He has preached and lectured worldwide addressing audiences numbering up to five thousand in England, Ireland, Russia, and the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Zambia, South Korea, Central and South America, Canada and the United States. While abroad he met with chief government education officials seeking to liberate private and Christian education. He enjoys persuasive discourse about education, vocational nobility, biblical worldview, management, history, marketing, economics, politics, theology and apologetics and has written and edited newsletters, youth programs, high school and bible college courses, and videos and served as an essayist for educational and theological periodicals.

In 1975 Rodney married his best friend and co laborer, Robi with whom he fathered four children, each educated at home and in Christian schools with the youngest two graduating from Coram Deo Academy. His hobbies and interests include hiking, cycling, bird watching and natural science, travel, athletics, art, architecture and music and he dabbles in gourmet cooking. With Abraham Kuyper he believes "There is not one inch of the world that Christ does not claim saying, "That is mine. That belongs to me" and holds "Mercy triumphs over judgment" James 2:13 as his favorite scripture.
