FAQ About Grades 1-4 Testing
Q. How is testing scheduled?
A. Upon receipt of your child's online application, the Admission Coordinator will contact you by phone or email to schedule testing.
Q. What, where and when is testing offered?
A. The language arts and math portions of the Stanford Achievement Test are administered to applicants for grades 1-4. Students test on the campus to which they are applying. Testing is usually offered throughout the spring beginning in mid-January.
Q. How long will the test session last?
A. Most sessions run about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. There is some variance according to grade level and the number of students testing. The proctor will let you know on the day of testing when you should expect your child to be finished.
Q. Should a parent stay on campus during the test session?
A. No, it is not necessary for a parent to remain on campus.
Q. What does my child need to bring?
A. Students should bring a few pencils and a sweater in case the testing room is cool.
Q. What should my child wear?
A. Students may dress casually but are asked not to wear jeans.
Q. Can supporting documents be turned in on the test day?
A. Yes, supporting documents for applicants to grades 1-4 may be delivered to the office staff or turned in to the proctor at the test session. Please clearly indicate your child's name, grade level and campus on all correspondence. The Admission Coordinator will also confirm your family interview time or set one if not previously scheduled. N.B., a complete file is required prior to the family interview.
Q. When will we get the test results?
A. The School Director will review the test results during the admission interview and provide a copy for you to keep. Both parents of new families must accompany the applicant to the interview which lasts approximately 30 minutes. Current CDA families applying for another sibling need only one parent in attendance; however, both are most welcome to come if desired.
