CDA Has Been Green Lighted for District Accreditation

The Quality Assurance Review Team Recommends CDA - April 2012

In February we announced that we were seeking District Accreditation, which is a higher level than our existing School Accreditation. District accreditation holds us to standards of collaboration between campuses which allows us to examine and fine tune what we do on a higher level - consistent with our long-term goal of seeing Coram Deo Academy as one school with three campuses.

This week five AdvancEd representatives examined how well CDA meets its mission to educate ethical servant leaders and wise thinkers by touring campuses and sitting down with families, students, faculty, and administrators. The accreditation team repeatedly expressed that they were impressed with our collaborative model, mission, and the people that make CDA great.

We are very pleased that they have recommended us for district accreditation. As well as the fact that they have given us valuable action items to help us achieve the standard to which we aspire. Part of the reason we entered into this process was to gain feedback, to hold us accountable to our mission, and to glean wisdom. God has been good in sending us a team who could provide exactly that. We have opened our doors to the accreditation team; and they in turn have been thorough in their examination of the processes we use to continue to achieve our level of excellence in education. Some achievements they have commended us for are:

  • Our strong, pastoral leadership which empowers CDA employees, who acknowledge and appreciate the care and hope provided by their leadership.
  • Our collaboration with parents and teachers that builds momentum in the education of students.
  • Being a school which imparts a strong desire in our students to become responsible, ethical, and eloquent leaders.
  • Our shared vision which lends to a safe, structured, loving, and nurturing environment.

A deep debt of gratitude belongs to all the families, teachers, students and administrators who gave of their time to make this process an effective tool for improvement.
