CDA Collin County 10th Grader Takes State in Diving
On January 28th, Miranda Meissner represented Coram Deo Academy in the NorthRegional TAPPS Diving Meet in Mansfield, Texas. With a tournament high score of 362, she was not only Regional Champ but also eclipsed the Texas Division 3A diving record which has not been broken since 2004.
Continuing her success and record setting pace, on Feb 11th she competed in the 2011 State TAPPS Diving Meet in San Antonio where she set another state record score of 380.6. This score surpassed her own Regional Meet record, helped her top all school divisions in Texas, and gave her the State Diving Champion title for two years in a row.
Out of 19 girls competing at the State Meet in San Antonio, Miranda was the only girl diver to qualify for the 2011 All American Diver competition with a score of 375 or better.
Her mom, Denise Meissner, says that CDA's schedule allows Miranda to indulge her diving passion 6 days a week. So that her daughter could compete in TAPPS for CDA, Denise took online coaching classes and travels with her as she dives. We hope to have video posted soon, so that you can see just how amazing this girl is. Congratulations on so many successes, Miranda!
