Hannah Hicks and D.L Brake Listed on All-Academic Honor Roll
The American Southwest Conference listed two CDA alumni attending Howard Payne University on its 2011 Fall All-Academic honor roll. To earn this honor, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA while competing athletically.
When
she was at CDA Hannah participated in volleyball, basketball, track, and softball; she received honors in all of them. Her senior year at CDA she was named Female Athlete of the Year. Her athletic and academic career has continued on with honors at Howard Payne University. You can see her college athlete profile here.
You could say that athletics are part of the Brake family tradition; and CDA alumnus D.L Brake has kept this tradition well. The 2008 grad while at CDA played football, basketball, and ran track. In football, he made First Team All-District and Second Team All-State. Also, his senior year, he was named Male Athlete of the Year. The Criminal Justice major is also a running back at Howard Payne. After college, D.L intends to become a game warden.
